Guide to active ingredients
A rundown of the most popular active ingredients in Korean skincare — what they do and who they suit.
Niacinamide
Evens out tone, minimizes pores, strengthens the skin barrier. Suits almost every skin type and pairs well with most other actives.
Centella (Cica)
Calms irritation and redness, speeds up skin recovery. A must-have for sensitive, reactive skin.
PDRN (salmon polynucleotides)
Stimulates regeneration and skin elasticity, often used post-procedure and in anti-aging routines.
Retinol / retinal
Speeds up cell turnover, smooths fine lines, refines texture. Introduce gradually and always wear SPF during the day.
Peptides
Signal skin to produce more collagen, boosting firmness. Work well combined with other anti-aging actives.
Ceramides
Restore the skin barrier and lock in moisture. Especially important for dry or compromised skin.
Hyaluronic acid
Holds water in the skin for instant hydration. Suits every skin type.
BHA & AHA acids
BHA works inside the pores — good for oily, blemish-prone skin. AHA exfoliates the surface — helps with dullness and uneven texture.
